Initiative 1- Expand Membership Base
Objectives:
- Raise total membership to 250
- Increase number of student members

- improve recruitment/retention efforts with professionals
- promote membership at related conferences
- develop and implement recruitment opportunities for students
Initiative 2- Improve the Quality of Membership Services
Objectives:
- Improve communication to membership
- Monitor member satisfaction
Actions:
- produce a timely newsletter of quality
- maintain a website which is up to date and useful
- enhance e-mail capabilities for member contact
- respond to membership survey results
Initiative 3- Enhance Continuing Education Opportunities Specific to Member Needs
Objectives:
- Provide training opportunities relevant to member needs
- Meet PRPS budget expectations regarding education programs
Actions:
- continue research/needs assessment efforts with members
- develop and implement programs
- explore development of alternative formats for programs
- contribute to overall PRPS education efforts
Initiative 4- Develop Initiatives Regarding Public Awareness and Public Policy
Objectives:
- Encourage recognition of Therapeutic Recreation Week
- Enhance legislative and governmental agency awareness of therapeutic recreation and activities
- Monitor and respond to relevant legislative and regulatory issues
Actions:
- develop and implement a plan for celebrating TR week
- develop a cooperative plan for public policy networking and action with related professional organizations
- enhance level of involvement with PRPS legislative effort
Initiative 5- Ensure that Society Documents are Up-To-Date
Objective:
- Review society documents and update as needed
