The Activities Associate supports the Activities Manager in achieving goals of The Hickman through a successful activities program that include activities reflective of The Hickman’s Diversity Statement and respects residents cultural and ethnic diversity.
Designs and implements a range of activities, trips and community events targeted at senior population, physically and cognitively impaired seniors in accordance with DPW regulations and the mission. In doing so, provide a sense of community, well-being, and recognition of individual capabilities and talents.
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee operation of community store and store cart
Work with West Chester Friends School for intergenerational activities
Responsible for daily oversight of The Hickman’s pets
Oversee operation of Activities Room
Conduct activity surveys with Residents
Complete Activities section of support plan for each Resident
Operate Audio – Visual equipment
Assist with newsletter
Participate in committees and facility meetings as designated
Participate in The Hickman’s driving tree
Plan and execute facility and community wide programs
Create, maintain and distribute a weekly calendar of events
Minimum Qualifications:
Proficient reading, writing, grammar and math skills
Basic computer skills
High School Diploma
Advanced degree in area preferred
Comfort and ability working with senior population and cognitively impaired adults
Special training in activity support with cognitively impaired adults
PA Drivers License in good standing

LCOH is a comprehensive mental health facility offering a continuum of mental health services on our campus.
